JOB TITLE:                OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTSLOCATION:                STATES OF GEORGIA AND CALIFORNIA JOB STATUS:                FULL-TIME TEMP POSITIONS (LOCUM) – Continuous 13 Week AssignmentsGENERAL SUMMARY:The role of the Occupational Therapist is to assist people in improving their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and work environments by helping them to develop, recover, or maintain the mobility and functioning needed to do so.  These positions are in a Home Healthcare Environment.PRE-SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:1.        A complete job application.2.        A current CV/Resume with no gaps in employment/work history.3.        A complete Annual Skills Check List Form in OT.4.        2-3 Current Clinical Peer References.5.        2 Pre-Screening Questionnaire Forms (Licensure and Motor Vehicle Record)PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:•        Examining patient’s medical history.•        Evaluate and measure a patient’s strength, functional abilities, visual acuity, cognitive responses, and manual dexterity.•        Determining a patient’s ability to be independent and to reintegrate into the community and/or workplace after injury or illness.•        Developing a plan of treatment clearly identifying its purpose and the anticipated outcome.•        Implementing treatment plans and/or supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants in their implementation of the treatment plans.•        Use physical exercise to help patients increase strength and dexterity.•        Teaching patients to use assistive and adaptive devices, such as wheelchairs, orthotics, and aids for eating and dressing.•        Collaborating with other medical professionals, i.e. physicians, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists.•        Strong interpersonal skills to educate patients and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.•        Assessing and recording a patient’s activities and progress.•        Design and create special adaptive equipment designed to help patients accomplish the necessary tasks in their daily lives.•        Use computer programs to help patients improve decision making, abstract-reasoning, problem-solving, memory sequencing, coordination and perceptual skills.•        Other duties as needed or assigned.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:•        A current valid “unrestricted” OT state license.•        Graduate from a accredited Occupational Therapy education program (MS)•        Currently Certified  and/or Re-certified with the NBCOT•        A minimum of 1 year of experience in Occupational Therapy•        Currently up-to-date and maintains CPR/BLS and/or ACLS certificationsBENEFITS PACKAGE OUTLINE:•        Employed Providers may be eligible for Health and Dental Coverage after a 90 Day Probation Period.•        Employed Providers can participate in the “Medicon Staffing Referral Program” – Receive up to $500.00 per successful “EMPLOYED” referral.  Additional details are available.HOURLY SALARY RANGE:        Compensation based on experience and education.
