JOB TITLE:                PHYSICAL THERAPISTSLOCATION:                STATES OF GEORGIA AND CALIFORNIA JOB STATUS:                FULL-TIME TEMP POSITIONS (LOCUM) – Continuous 13 Week AssignmentsGENERAL SUMMARY:The role of the Physical Therapists is to help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.  Physical Therapy is important in restoring, maintain and promoting overall fitness and health.  These positions are in a Home Healthcare Environment.PRE-SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:1.        A complete job application.2.        A current CV/Resume with no gaps in employment/work history.3.        A complete Annual Skills Check List Form in PTs.4.        2-3 Current Clinical Peer References.5.        2 Pre-Screening Questionnaire Forms (Licensure and Motor Vehicle Record)PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•        Examines patient’s medical history.•        Measures a patient’s strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, and respiration and motor function.•        Determines a patient’s ability to be independent and to reintegrate into the community and/or workplace after injury or illness.•        Developes a plan of treatment clearly identifying its purpose and the anticipated outcome.•        Implements this treatment plan and/or supervising a Physical Therapy Assistant in their implementation of this treatment plan.•        Uses electrical stimulation – either hot or cold – and ultrasound to relieve pain and reduce swelling.•        Uses traction or deep-tissue massage to relieve pain.•        Teaches patients to use assistive and adaptive devices such as crutches, prosthesis, and wheelchairs.•        Developes a home exercise program for patients to expedite recovery and promote strengthening.•        Collaborates with other medical professionals, i.e. physicians, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.•        Strong interpersonal skills in order to educate patients and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.•        Other duties as needed or assigned.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:•        A current valid “unrestricted” PT state license.•        Graduate from a accredited Physical Therapy education program (MS or PhD)•        Currently Certified  and/or Re-certified with the APTA•        A minimum of 1 year of experience in Physical Therapy•        Currently up-to-date and maintains CPR/BLS and/or ACLS certificationsBENEFITS PACKAGE OUTLINE:•        Employed Providers may be eligible for Health and Dental Coverage after a 90 Day Probation Period.•        Employed Providers may participate in “Medicon Staffing Referral Program” –Receive up to $500.00 per successful “EMPLOYED” referral.  Additional details are available.HOURLY SALARY RANGE:        Compensation based on experience and education.
