Loretto is seeking a qualified Recreation Specialist for Fahey Rehab. This is a full-time day position, and may require some weekends. The Recreation Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing recreational and leisure activities that enhance, retain, and increase resident’s independence, health, and welfare. RESPONSIBILITIES:• Assure assigned residents are notified of activities and given opportunity to participate• Maintain open communication with families and caregivers with regard to resident/client progress and requirements.  Provide instructions as needed• Coordinate/schedule events and activities.  Develop calendar, coordinate staff, procure supplies & equipment, create advertising collateral• Assess resident/client needs and design/modify therapeutic recreation programs to maximize potential improvement or sustain capabilitiesREQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, or related field, from an accredited college or university• 1-2 years experience in a long-term or acute setting• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist a plusLoretto is a multifaceted, non-profit provider of long term care programs and services in Central New York.
