The Army Health Care Team is one of the largest comprehensive systems of health care in the country. It's made up of six corps, each with a specific function. To find out which corps fits your specialty, browse through the six corps.   Dental Corps An Army Dentist does much more than practice in one area of dentistry. As an Officer and a dentist, you may have the opportunity to advance your education in areas such as: oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and orthodontics. Medical Corps The Army Medical Corps contains over 40 specialties, including internal medicine, neurosurgery, pathology, anesthesiology and psychiatry. As a physician and Officer, you'll do much more than practice medicine. You'll be trained as a leader and you'll be given the opportunity to participate in pioneering medical discovery and research. Medical Service Corps Behavioral psychology, entomology, hospital administration and nuclear engineering are only some of possible fields for you to consider as a Medical Service Corps Officer. See all the varied fields in the Medical Service Corps.   Medical Specialist Corps As an Officer in the Medical Specialist Corps, you'll provide patient care, wellness education and injury prevention to people of all ages. Your prevention and education efforts will improve Soldier readiness, and your rehabilitation knowledge will help the injured get back on the road to recovery. The four disciplines that make up the Army Medical Specialist Corps are occupational therapy, physical therapy, dietetics and physician assistant. Nurse Corps As an Army Nurse, you'll be able to gain education and experience in such specialties as critical care nursing, medical surgical nursing, anesthesia nursing or community health nursing. Veterinary Corps As an Army Veterinarian, you have the opportunity to utilize your professional training and experience in a wide variety of areas.
