The P.T. aide works closely with the physical therapists on staff to administer physical therapy to patients.   The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:*Observe patients during treatment*Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under the direction of professional P.T. staff.*Compile and evaluate data on patients’ responses and progress, and report information to physical therapist; evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment; record treatment given and equipment used.*Measure patient’s range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations.*Train patients to use orthopedic braces, prostheses and supportive devices.*Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, and electrical modality treatments, such as ultrasound.*Organize work area for physical therapy*Light administrative duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, faxing plan of care forms to Orthopedists, pulling and filing medical charts, etc.
