Job Summary: To provide the basic skills necessary for collection of blood samples through the use of skin puncture and venipuncture techniques.    Major Duties / Critical Tasks: Performs blood collection procedures using skin (micro) puncture and venipuncture. Identifies patients according to hospital protocol prior to specimen collection. Participates in hospital and clinic collection records. Keeps blood drawing trays and equipment clean and well organized. Adheres to internal controls established for department. Performs related duties as required. Required Education / Experience: High school or equivalent. Equipment: Standard blood sample collection equipment. Working Environment: Standard hospital environment. Schedule: VARIABLE SHIFTS. Must be available for days and nights.
