Duties: You will serve as supervisory pharmacist and provide service for approximately 1,000 outpatients daily, with prescriptions and medication orders of approximately 3,000 daily, and 14 nursing stations on nights, weekends, and holidays. Provide drug information to professional personnel responsible for outpatient ambulatory care. Supervise and coordinate the work of assigned personnel including registered pharmacists, technicians, and supportive personnel engaged in the receipt, interpretation, and dispensing of prescriptions of a wide variety of drug and medicinal to patients. Assure that accurate records of prescriptions and inventories are kept and compile required periodic reports. Advise professional staff with respect to dosage, contraindications, and administration of drugs. Suggest alternative medications or modifications of current preparations and advise as to pharmacy and hospital regulations, requirements, and policy. Basic Requirements: 1. Education: Four-year bachelors degree in pharmacy recognized by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education. 2. Licensure: All applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Specialized Experience: One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience which involves supervising or coordinating personnel, advising staff about dosage and administration of drugs, and ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
