Social & Scientific Systems (SSS) is seeking a Network Community Coordinator (NCC) to fill the role as the liaison between the network community groups, site and regional community advisory boards (CABs) and the Operations Center. The NCC coordinates and facilitates the activities of the IMPAACT Community Advisory Board (ICAB) and its subcommittees.  This position is also responsible for the central support of CAB activities in region(s) as assigned, as well as other network and cross-network community activities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Coordinates and oversees the planning, development, and implementation of the activities of the IMPAACT network Community Advisory Board (ICAB) and its subcommittees/working groups.•        Facilitates communication between the ICAB and Network leadership and investigators.•        Plans and delivers training and technical assistance to the network, regional, and site-level CABs•        Facilitates and oversees ICAB strategic planning.•        Supports ICAB Leadership to ensure timely completion of key goals and activities.•        Develops and edits key deliverables, including reports, call and meeting summaries, action items, and additional materials.•        Provides oversight of CAB newsletter.•        Works with the ICAB leadership regarding budget issues, including ICAB budget tracking, management and forecasting and other resource allocations.•        Participates in and supports cross-network CAB working group activities.•        Works with subcontractors and consultants on community initiatives and educational materials.•        Maintains the ICAB standard operating procedures and the ICAB page of IMPAACT Website, ensuring that documents, guidelines, and links are up-to-date and adding new information as deemed appropriate. •        Assists the committee chairs in developing the call/meeting agendas.•        Coordinates, generates, and creates the necessary documents to support the work of this group, and follows up on action items.•        Monitors participation and keeps the ICAB chairs appraised of any issues. •        Facilitates ICAB representative assignments to protocol teams and committees and maintains a record of assignments.   This includes notifying the scientific committees and clinical trials specialists (CTS) of changes in assignments of Community members to committees or protocols.  •        Responsible for maintaining membership rosters in the MIS and e-mail distribution lists on the Data Management Center (DMC) system. 2. Coordinates and oversees the planning, development, and implementation of activities of the site CABS and RCABs with the RCAB and ICAB Leadership groups.  •        Facilitates communication between CABs at the site, regional, and network-levels.•        Communicates with ICAB Leadership regarding RCAB support and training needs.•        Assists individual IMPAACT sites with identifying and/or addressing issues within their local CAB and serves as a resource for new and established CABs.  •        Assists with coordinating CAB training at meetings and Retreats. •        Assists ICAB with site CAB and RCAB assessments and evaluation.•        Assists sites in establishing and maintaining local CABs.•        Conducts visits to site CABs as requested or as deemed necessary. This includes planning site visits to assess and build CAB capacity by working with CAB members and site staff on training, education, retention and evaluation measures for local CABs.   •        Responsible for scheduling and participating in conference calls and meetings of regional CAB representatives and related focus groups.•        Assists RCAB Leadership with establishment of call/meeting agendas and coordinates, generates, or creates necessary documents to support the work of the group. •        Develops a summary of action items from the call and writes the call and meeting summaries.  •        Responsible for maintaining membership rosters in the Management Information System (MIS)  and e-mail distribution list at the DMC for CAB representatives and CAB liaisons.   3. Expansion activities•        Works with the cross-network CAB working group to formulate a cross network coordinated plan for expanded site CAB support. •        Works with Operations Center and ICAB leadership to define the staffing and resources required to provide the necessary support in establishing and maintaining local site and regional CABs, within available network resources.•        Supervises activities of support staff as needed.  Other activities as required. *** This position may be located in Silver Spring, MD or in Durham, NC. ***QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree AND 5-7 years’ experience in related field. Experience working with HIV/AIDS preferred. Experience with other health services and/or clinical trials as a clinician or community member. Experience in developing strategies to build health services at research or clinical care sites and/or in communities domestically and internationally.  Minimum of three to five years’ experience supporting and motivating community volunteers. Minimum of three to five years’ experience working with community members and community organizations. Experience preparing progress reports or summary reports. Exceptional communication and writing skills. Experience in coordinating the support of scientific or professional committees. Knowledge and experience with adult education principles and training of lay persons. Good understanding of health and social implications of HIV/AIDS. Community organization and mobilization experience.
