Director of Engineering - Hospital FacilitiesPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for administering the operational, financial and personnel activities of the Engineering department in order to provide a safe and supportive environment of care for patients, families, physicians, and staff. Essential Functions: • Manage the facilities operations budget, including labor, supplies, purchased service and utilities • Ensures Hospital and associated properties remain in compliance with all regulatory agencies (i.e. The Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, etc.) • Direct, coordinate and review the activities of consultants, vendors and contractors • Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and/or professional affiliations to remain abreast of latest developments and trends in facilities management. • Implement energy management strategies to achieve optimum cost control • Perform cost/benefit reviews of the maintenance program activities and implement most appropriate strategies (RCM, Predictive maintenance, run to failure, etc.) • Ensure equipment is properly selected, installed, and maintained in optimum conditionMinimum Requirements: • Minimum 7-10 years of related experience • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required • Experience in a healthcare setting at a Director or Assistant level required of a large hospital system. • Must have prior experience working in a pediatric hospital of more than 350 beds • Must have prior experience with responsibility for more than 5 direct reports • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferredSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • The ability to analyze equipment and system malfunctions • The ability to plan, organize and schedule work in the most efficient and productive manner • The ability to conduct employee evaluations • The ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making • Knowledge of current and advanced maintenance practices • Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations associated with the Environment of Care both in an acute and an ambulatory setting This Hospital is a great place to work because: • Nationally recognized leader in pediatrics medicine • High employee satisfaction surveys • Great benefits • Great cost of living with great housing market and schools • No state income taxes • Common mission and vision that everyone shares and see everydayRelocation assistance is available.Location: TexasAJ271
