Job DescriptionCardiovascular Services Quality Coordinator is responsible for the coordination/management of performance improvement activities within the cardiac service line.  This includes responsibility for analysis and presentation of data, facilitation of quality meetings and coordination improvement initiatives.  This individual is also responsible for the overall administration and support of cardiovascular registries including data abstraction, data integrity monitoring, and report writing.   Educates, consults with and assists clinicians, physicians and leadership in leveraging data for quality improvement.  Maintains general understanding of public reporting concerns and regulatory requirements related to this area.JOB QUALIFICATIONS•Registered Nurse with cardiovascular clinical background.•Cardiovascular experience preferred•Bachelor's degree required•Manages timely data collection and submission for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Cath PCI and ICD registries and Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) CABG registry in accordance with ACC, STS and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requirements.•Maintains detailed and current understanding of registry definitions/methodologies and related public reporting guidelines for collection, communication and explanation of data.•Analyzes data trends, patterns and benchmark comparisons to identify opportunities for improvement and assists leadership in prioritizing the opportunities.•Develops reports and presentations for the evaluation and communication of data and facilitates discussion of the information.•Serves as a resource person to service line departments, leadership and physicians for quality data, performance improvement and reporting and presentation of information.•Coordinates service line performance improvement initiatives including, but not limited to: pursuit of certifications, best practice implementation and department leadership education on quality topics.•Researches best practices, certification requirements, national initiatives and other quality-related topics as needed to assist with performance improvement initiatives.•Develops and maintains data integrity audit processes for data being managed.•Coordinates the implementation of software system updates, revisions and enhancements in conjunction with information systems and the vendor.•Monitors applications to assure that systems are functioning properly and takes appropriate corrective action when system problems are detected.•Maintains confidentiality.•Performs other duties as assigned.
