Job Title: Senior Epic Cache Database AdministratorLocation: La Jolla, California Position Description:The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the installation of the system environment and environment management. The DBA will perform work on new project installations, software system release upgrades and/or system performance management projects. The DBA will monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshoot and triage system errors, manage the build, certification and production domains and will oversee the installation of software upgrades. The DBA is responsible for ensuring that the Epic database system is appropriately configured to receive large amounts of incoming information from an interface or conversion.Responsibilities:•        Successfully achieve Epic Caché certification•        Configure devices•        Manage print queues•        Manage physical and logical volumes•        Perform system backups and restores•        Capacity and Performance Management•        Install and configure High Availability/Clustering for test and production systems•        Able to start and stop Caché using both Caché utilities•        Ability to use the Caché cube to modify the Caché configuration file•        Ability to install Caché on a server•        Ability to create programmer and administrative access to Epic environments•        Works effectively and negotiates between multiple parties such as data center operations, networking and operating system administrators.•        Managing a complex technical project, including maintaining a detailed project plan and issues list to be reviewed on standing conference calls with Epic.•        Communicating with the application teams to ensure that application and database needs are being addressed.•        General understanding of Caché, including routines, globals, and namespaces•        Understanding of Epic’s utilities and run levels•        Understand error logs associated with High Availability/Clustering•        Understanding of what constitutes an Epic environment•        Understand High Availability/Clustering concepts•        Understand basic operating system loggingQualifications:•        The applicant must have at least five years experience in similar/related position•        Five years’ experience in working on medium to large sized systems projects in a technology-driven environment•        Prior Caché database experienceSalary & full medical/dental/disability benefits  package, to include full relocation for the right candidate.
