We seek candidates for the role of Billing and Documentation Analyst. In this role you will serve as a liaison between departmental physician and support staff, linking documentation needs with code requirements. You will review all patient procedure charts for appropriate documentation and coding to justify all charges submitted. You will follow up on non-compliant or incompatible charge codes and work with the Overview Outpatient Code Editor (OCE) to ensure that all codes are in compliance with Medicare policies. You will present updates on charge and documentation issues at weekly departmental meetings while building relationships across Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services and clinical departments. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and be licensed as an RN in the state of New York (or have the ability to gain this licensure). Candidates must be certified as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Must have at least (5) five years of coding experience in an inpatient setting. Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
