To initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments. To observe universal precautionsand policy and procedures as set forth by DSI. To implement the physicians orders accuratelyand efficiently.Perform assessments of patient before dialysis treatment.- Initiate, monitor and terminate patient's dialysis treatment.- Monitor patients and equipment alarms during treatment.- Inform charge nurse of change in patient status.Skillful performance of venipuncture.- Transcribe and implement physician's orders.- Documents appropriate information in the medical record per Federal, State, and DSIrequirements.- Assist in the training of new staff members.- Participate in staff meetings and in-service programs.- Administer blood and blood products and be knowledgeable of what to do in the event ofa reaction.- Maintain a clean working area.- Practice and teach aseptic technique to patients and other staff members.- Identify and treat Intradialytic morbidities.- Appropriate and responsible performance in the event of a patient or facility emergency.- Practice within boundaries established by state law.
