Pre-Dental School Program
Our unique program at the Center for Special Dentistry teaches interns all aspects of general and specialty dentistry in a manner impossible to achieve in dental school. Our program is based in a super premium, all digital, Multi-Specialty Cosmetic & Reconstructive dental practice on Madison Avenue in mid-town Manhattan. You must intend to attend dental school to apply to this program and provide a resume that reflects it. Participation may facilitate an intern's application to dental school. It also teaches what to do thereafter. Our program does NOT grant a university degree or a license for U.S. dental practice.
There is no formal application form and starting dates can occur throughout the year. We also have students attend for only the summer. Entry into the program is highly competitive. You will need to submit a resume, photo, three references and pay a $35 non-refundable application fee before being invited to interview.

Your references must NOT be from family or friends. A check for the $35 application fee should be made to 1dentist, LLC and sent via US mail before your application will be processed. An invitation to interview does not imply acceptance into our program so applicants should make travel plans accordingly.
You will need a U.S. work visa (as a non-resident) or a work permit (as a resident) if you hope to obtain a paid internship with us. We cannot provide assistance to applicants in obtaining a visa or work permit.
Please be aware that there is typically a waiting list for the paid full-time and part-time positions and interns will frequently volunteer in order to obtain the next paid internship opening. Summer internships are never paid. You can also directly apply for a volunteer position but then you will need to be able to live in NYC and get financial help in some other way. There is no formal curriculum.
Our internship programs generally begin throughout the year. Interns frequently stay two or three years. Our paid internships generally range between $20,000 - 50,000 per year (with the higher range for more experienced interns) but the cost of living in NYC is quite high.
A $35 non-refundable application fee is required for all applicants that must be paid before an application will be reviewed. The check should be made out to "1dentist, LLC" and sent via US mail. Volunteers are also responsible for participation-associated expenses due for each session. The equipment fee to cover your basic expenses while you are a part of our pre-dental school program will be as follows:
Session I: June 1st through August 31st - $150.00
Session II: September 1st through December 31st – $120.00
Session III: January 1st through May 31st – $150.00
Session IV: Any one week (Monday – Thursday) session - $50.00
Fees are due the first week of each period and will allow Interns the opportunity to participate within our program. The fees cover the basic expenses incurred by your participation during these time periods and will not be prorated nor refunded for partial attendance.
