The Pharmacy Technicians shall adhere to the applicable qualification requirements given below:Have graduated from a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), OR certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), OR successful completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program (i.e., a technical, hospital, or retail-based program).Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the last 3 years in a setting corresponding to the requirements of the task order.Have a working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems such as CHCS and/or AHLTA computer system.Staffing and scheduling:The Pharmacy Technician shall be on duty in the assigned clinical area for 40 hours each week; between the hours of 0700 and 1800. The Pharmacy Technician shall normally provide services for an 8.5 or 9 hour period (to include an uncompensated .5 or 1 hour for lunch depending on shift length), Monday through Friday. Shift times consist of 0730-1600 and the other shift might be 0900-1800. Evening shifts will be rotated among all pharmacy technicians (Government and contractor) who are assigned to the Pharmacy Department. The HCWs will accrue 8 hours of personal leave for each 80 hours work and shall be subject to leave approval in accordance with Section C of the basic contract. The Pharmacy Technicians will accrue a maximum of 80 hours of paid holiday leave per full year of performance (based on 10 holidays multiplied by 8 hours each), subject to change based on Executive Orders that have the effect of adding an additional holiday. 5. Duties. As assigned, the Pharmacy Technicians shall perform the following duties:PHARMACY TECHNICIANPerform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures. Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physicians requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions. Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.Provide general cleaning of workspaces including removal of trash, breakdown of cardboard boxes, and sweeping or mopping of workspace.
