POSITION DESCRIPTION:   Physician Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner   JOB TITLE:     PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER   GENERAL FUNCTIONS:   See, diagnose and treat patients in a Family Practice Medical Clinic.   REPORTING FUNCTIONS:   This position reports to the Group Manager of the Employee Health Clinic.   This position may also report to the supervising physician(s) of the Employee Health Clinic.   REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:   1.       See scheduled patients for a variety of medical problems, i.e., preventive maintenance, well child and adult care, routine illnesses, etc.   Will diagnose and treat accordingly. 2.       See unscheduled patients for urgent care, i.e., lacerations, burns, contusions, fractures, etc.   Will diagnose and treat accordingly. 3.       Give instruction to and direct medical assistants in patient care, i.e., injections, collecting blood samples, dressings, throat cultures, etc. 4.       See and treat patients for occupational injuries. 5.       Refer patients to specialty providers when necessary. 6.       Refer patients for necessary procedures for preventive maintenance or to diagnose medical problems. 7.       Dictate chart notes for medical transcriptionist. 8.       Oversee the daily operations of the Employee Health Clinic. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:        Education/Credentials        Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program.         Must be certified and licensed to practice in the state of Utah.        Experience        Must have two or more years experience in Family Practice/Urgent Care/Occupational Health/        Pediatrics.        Equipment used        Instruments for minor office procedures, PC, dictating recorder and other equipment commonly         used in a medical office.PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:        Must be able to work 40+ hours per week seeing usually 20+ patients per day.See complete job descriptions at: http://www.aruplab.com/Careers   About ARUP Laboratories: ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and a worldwide leader in innovative laboratory research and development.
