Programmer/Analyst – Applications and Web DeveloperAs a software developer, you will direct the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of n-tier Web Applications that will integrate with our existing environment, and with customer’s business applications utilizing Web Services and other integration technologies. Position Summary and Job Requirements: Designing, building, and implementing new Web pages and sites; integrating sites with back end applications; migrating legacy applications to the Web; and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s Web portfolio. Use of a variety of Web development languages and knowledge of WebSphere architecture is required. Primary responsibilities to include design and maintenance of the Physician Portal (PhysicianLink), internet and intranet. Responsible for using the Java development language to code to J2EE standards. The person hired for this position will design, develop and/or re-engineer highly complex application components, and integrate software packages, programs and reusable objects potentially residing on multiple platforms. This role will also manage the WebSphere Portal environment and mentor junior developer. Responsible for performing technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Total system product may include concept design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Plans and executes highly complex engineering activities. Functions as the technical lead for all design-to-cost and life cycle activities for small to medium-scale projects. Works on complex problems. Interacts with management on matters concerning several functional areas, departments, and/or customers. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Minimum Experience: At least 4 years direct experience with HTML; CSS; Javascript; IBM WebSphere; IBM WCM; Lotus Domino. Experience with definition and analysis of functional and technical requirements. Web planning and organizing skills; skills for developing web interface with a focus on user experience; understanding of web standards and the management of web content. Proven experience as a WebSphere Portal Developer. Expert level knowledge in WebSphere, WebSphere Portal, LDAP schema, strong Java and J2EE are required. Solid experience in Servlets, XML, Java Beans and JSP is highly preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Portlet technologies and have practical hands-on experience developing and delivering JSR 168 Portlet solutions and J2EE Applications. Department Description: The IS department currently has over 90 Full Time employees that support the range of business and clinical activities occurring at all facilities. The programming team within the IS department develops applications to support the functions Hospital System with a priority on those that more directly affect patient care. The team evaluates and utilizes new software technology that can be leveraged throughout the Health System.
