This individual will oversee our 23-bed high risk Labor & Delivery unit as well as our 15-bed Antepartum unit.  Approximately 38 FTEs including 4 Assistant Nurse Managers (2 days, 2 nights), a Nurse Clinician, RNs, OB Techs and Unit Clerks.  Reports to the Director of Women's and Children's Services who reports to the CNO.  In addition to being a Magnet hospital, we are a Level III trauma center and have applied for Level II trauma designation.  Managers are responsible for their department budget, managing productivity, hiring, discipline/termination of employees, performance evaluations, etc.  Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.  Due to our Magnet designation, a Masters Degree will be required by 2013 (either the Bachelors or Masters Degree must be in Nursing, but both do not have to be).  Must have Labor & Delivery management experience (minimum of 2 years).  National certification a plus.
