The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Health Services is seeking a Deputy Director for Nursing and Community Programs.  Reporting to the Director, Long Term Care and Community Support Services Administration, this is a managerial and supervisory work as one of three Deputy Directors within the Administration.  The Deputy Director plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates operations of three organizational divisions:  (1) Division of Community Long Term Care, (2) Division of Nursing Services, and (3) Division of Community Support Services.  This includes oversight of State-funded adult day care grants administered by the Office of Health Services as well as the following Medicaid-covered services and programs: personal care services, hospice, home health, EPSDT private duty nursing, disposable medical supplies and durable medical equipment, oxygen and related respiratory equipment, transportation services, the medical day care waiver, and the model waiver for disabled children.The Deputy Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal and State requirements for services covered through these programs, and participates in policy development regarding the Department’s long term care reform initiatives.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:  A Bachelor’s degree and six years of health or human services administration or professional experience, including three years at a supervisory or management level.  A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  A Doctorate will substitute for two years of general experience.  Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree.
