Please call us @ 1.888.442.7562 today for more information!Full-Time Opening- Monday-Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm NO WEEKENDS, NO CALL!Part-time Opening- Wed-Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm NO WEEKENDS, NO CALL!Position SummaryThe Pharmacist is responsible for the continuation of pharmacy management’s goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy. The pharmacist provides routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems to the centers. Management skills and accuracy are required to ensure that the appropriate drug product reaches the right customer efficiently and safely. Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy as they pertain to workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.2. Ensure that the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy. Assist in ensuring that the pharmacy is in compliance with all DEA policies and procedures as set forth by Omnicare or the regulatory agency, whichever is stricter. Ensure that the pharmacy is in compliance with all third party payor contract rules and regulations by which the pharmacy is bound.3. Supervise the pharmacy production staff to ensure proper data entry, work flow, security of the pharmacy area, and adherence to delivery schedules. 4. Screen all new medication orders for appropriate dose, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications prior to dispensing the medication.5. Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders. Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling.6. Preparation and/or supervision of all sterile IV drug products or solutions.7. Provide verbal or written consultation and information to healthcare professionals/ customers regarding Omnicare services and drug products.8. Obtain verbal and/or written prescription orders from the physician and/or designee as allowed by law.9. Obtain clarification of orders, when needed.10. Assist in the proper ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of all controlled substances; assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs.11. Provide evening, weekend and holiday coverage during scheduled on-call rotation and as required by management.12. Maintain working knowledge of the computer system (i.e., new orders, profiles, refills, new admits).13. All other duties as assigned.Education, Qualifications & Skills1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.2. Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing.3. Knowledgeable about long term care regulations (OBRA, OSHA, state laws and other federal laws) that have an impact upon both pharmacy and Center operations preferred.4. Proficient in the area of clinical interpretation; drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions and allergies.5. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.6. Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.7. Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.8. Perform accurately and efficiently when dispensing prescription medications.9. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evening, weekends and holidays.10. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentGenerally, work is performed in a climate-controlled, smoke free environment. Position requires reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing. Position requires at least 33% of the time each for standing, walking and/or sitting. Position requires pulling, lifting, carrying and pushing up to 50lbs. Position requires dealing with people, performing repetitive tasks, taking instruction, performing under stress and comparing. Position may require working with moving machinery and using protective clothing. Atmospheric conditions may provide exposure to fumes, poor ventilation, mists, dust, and odors. Position may require use of a computer/terminal and keyboarding.Required Qualifications Must be a licensed pharmacist in Ohio.At least 6 months of post graduate exp.
