Houston Texas’ most revolutionary surgical OR company is looking for a Health Information Management Specialist. This person will be creating and managing all medical records and patient charts. HIM Specialist will report to the Billing and Collections Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create and organizes patient charts. Ensures that all files are secured and in locked file room until requested by authorized personnel. Create file for new patient charts. Maintain log of charts given to collectors. Check charts for completion and correct number of documents. File bulk EOB's in separate files. Assist with making copies of EOB's. Fulfill medical record requests.Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret common reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write prescribed style and format. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Computer Skills: Must be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Compute figures utilizing a 10 key calculator. Ability to type accurately, 30-35 wpm.
