Lakeside Health System is seeking a part time Pharmacy Technician. Lakeside Health System is located in Brockport, New York. We are a 181-bed healthcare system, serving a three-county area. In addition to Lakeside Memorial Hospital, we have the Beikirch Care Center (a skilled nursing facility), a Family Wellness Center, and Urgent Care Centers in Spencerport and LeRoy. The Pharmacy Technician will report directly to the Director of Pharmacy. The main function of the pharmacy technician’s role is to assist the pharmacist and prepare medication for dispensing to patients; to control inventory; to process orders and to keep only within-date medication in stock. The duties of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Filling unit dose cassettes – hospital and nursing home. 2. Transcribing orders. 3. Filling orders and floor route orders. 4. Filling stock orders. 5. Filling narcotic orders for patient floors for pharmacist dispensing. 6. Conducting floor stock inspections. 7. Utilizing computer, syringes and needles in medication preparation. 8. Ordering medications. 9. Delivering medication to nursing home and patient floors. 10. Conducting inventory. 11. Purchasing medications. 12. Exchanging unit dose cassettes. 13. Receiving and putting away stock. 14. Making returns to manufacturers/wholesalers. Applicants to this position MUST meet the following criteria for consideration: * MUST have a High School Diploma or GED * MUST be able to stand for up to 80% of shift hours * MUST be able and willing to work shift hours between 7am – 6.30pm. * MUST have previous experience as a pharmacy technician Proficiency using and learning Windows-based computer systems is preferred, as well as 1 year of previous work experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
