A Surgical Hospital in the Southwest is looking for a Certified hospital coder (CPC-H or CCS certification). Must have at least 2 years experience in CPT coding and ICD9 coding for all outpatient and Inpatient surgical specialties and must be Certified. Must have hospital and/or surgical coding. Must be knowledgeable in CPT and ICD9 codes for all surgical specialties. The Coder codes all types of inpatient and outpatient medical in accordance with nationally established rules and regulatory guidelines for ICD-9-CM coding, CPT coding, DRG assignment and APC assignment based on documentation within the medical record. Will be doing all outpatient and Inpatient surgery claims. Should be able to code close to 700 cases per month (45 ER, 400- 500 Surgery, and 150  300 Imaging). Must be able to handle fast pace environment. Must have a great deal of initiative, be self-directed and motivated. Monday through Friday, 8 - 4:30.Benefits : Health insurance after 30 days of permanent employment, 401K, dental & vision insurance. Paid holidays and 2 weeks vacation.Must have AHIMA CCS with inpatient and outpatient coding experience. This experience must cover ICD-9-CM, CPT, APC and DRG reimbursement knowledge. Must have mastery skill in Microcomputer skill (Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Microsoft word) Must have working knowledge of medical terminology anatomy and physiology. Knowledge in JCAHO standards and CMS requirements of medical records documentation, coding and billing.Must be Certified. Must have at least 2 years experience in CPT coding and ICD9 coding for all outpatient surgical specialties. Must have hospital and/or surgical coding. Must be knowledgeable in CPT and ICD9 codes for all surgical specialties. Must be able to calculate managed care allowables. Must be able to handle fast pace environment. Must have a great deal of initiative, be self-directed and motivated.
