JOB SUMMARY:This person does need to have a JD and some type of clinical background (RN, RT etc) and Risk Management experience in the Hospital environment.  Provides legal and risk management advice to management, medical staff and other appropriate individuals associated with the organization. Plans, implements, directs, evaluates, and documents an integrated, comprehensive, proactive risk management program for the organization, including the hospital and community based programs, designed to reduce and, when feasible, eliminate the risk of injury to patients, visitors, and employees and to protect the organization's resources.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Admitted to the California State Bar in good standing or must be willing to register with the California State Bar.Juris Doctorate5-8 years experience requiredExperience in Risk Management or equivalent field of work and include at least 2 years experience in providing patient carePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:2 years in managing hospital-based risk management programs
