You have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and are licensed as an RN in the state of California (or have the ability to gain this licensure). You have at least three (3) years clinical nursing experience that includes previous experience as a supervisor/charge nurse. You have previous experience in an oncology setting, are active in the ONS community, and are chemo certified. You are a highly motivated and ambitious self-starter who would be intrigued by an opportunity to take on a new challenge that wouldn't necessarily involve managing an entire unit alone (but would provide superb career preparation for this direction). We seek candidates for the role of Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager for a nationally renowned cancer treatment and research facility. In this role you will support the Clinical Nurse Manager in the responsibilities for the daily operational needs of the assigned area and participates in the management of staff and material resources, as well as program planning and evaluation. You will work rotating shifts (some days 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, other days 3:00 pm - 3:00 am, with some weekends as needed). You will provide input and participate in the development and management of the budget. You will supervise employees, participate in hiring, assign work, coach, train, staff inservices, evaluate performance, and complete simple disciplinary actions. You will actively work to ensure optimal delivery of care as well as performance improvement initiatives either through direct involvement and membership or by occasionally leading PI team efforts. Candidates must be licensed as an RN in the state of California (or have the ability to gain this licensure). Must have American Heart Association BLS certification. Strong preference given to candidates with Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification. Must have at least three (3) years clinical nursing experience that includes experience in an oncology setting. Strong preference given to candidates who have previous employment at any NCI designated hospital. Must be a motivated and willing to go the extra mile.
