In anticipation of award, Angel Staffing, INC, is currently seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist. 13 week Position Starting immediately!Requirements:Experience in the following: PEDS, High Risk Newborns, ER (All age groups -Level 1)Current BLS/PALS/NRP/ACLSState LicenseNBRC CertificationEssential Job Responsibilities:1. Evaluates and treats all types of patients, ranging from premature infants whose lungs are not fully developed to elderly people whose lungs are diseased. Interviews patients and performs limited physical examinations.2. Conducts diagnostic tests including checking breathing capacity and determining the concentration of oxygen and other gases in patients’ blood. Measures patients’ pH, which indicates the acidity or alkalinity of the blood.3. Treats patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, chest physiotherapy, and aerosol medications. May use oxygen mask or nasal cannula on the patient and set the oxygen flow at the level prescribed by the physician. 4. Performs chest physiotherapy on patients to remove mucus from their lungs and make it easier for them to breathe. Administers aerosols, which are liquid medications suspended in a gas that forms a mist that is inhaled. Teaches patients how to inhale the aerosol properly to ensure its effectiveness.5. Teaches patients and their families to use ventilators and other life-support systems at home. May visit patients at home to inspect and clean equipment and to ensure its proper use.6. Complies with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies and practices. Documents patient care for medical records.Education: Associate's degree or bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or cardiopulmonary technology from an accredited school required. Experience: Minimum one year of respiratory therapy experience in acute care setting required. Minimum six months of experience in diagnostic testing required. Minimum six months of medical practice experience preferred.
