PURPOSE:      The Occupational Therapist organizes and provides direction for medically prescribed occupational therapy programs, in the hospital and the out-patient clinics.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Projects a positive, professional image to patients, families, and other health care professionals in the community.  Provides quality occupational therapy services to patients for whom O.T. has been requested by their physician.  Effectively evaluates patients according to clinical standards.  Adheres to insurance guidelines and occupational therapy policy regarding appropriate documentation in patient charts.  Assists with the needs of the Occupational Therapy Department as requested by the Director of Rehabilitation.  Develops effective schedule to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.  Supports the concept of the interdisciplinary approach to patient treatment.  Keeps current on clinical developments and state licensure regulations regarding occupational therapy.  Where appropriate, performs population(s) served patient assessment demonstrating awareness of growth and development for each age group.  Demonstrates knowledge of population(s) served assessment, recognizing psychological levels and development patterns.  Provides for age appropriate stimulation and learning needs. QUALIFICATIONS:  B.S. / M.S. in Occupational Therapy from accredited school.  Licensed/eligible for license in the state of Florida as an O.T.R.  Three to five years clinical experience with various populations.  One year prior management experience.
